To my dear class (or should I say Class of 2E2, 2007),

Thanks for making the chalet cum bbq a success yesterday! Special thanks to Joyce, who got the room for us and also planning it, to Laura, Mag and Zhihong who helped out in the planning through discussions and buying of the food. Oh yes, and to the three ladies (Shahida, Ameena and Hidayah) who took the initiative to recee the place so that your classmates can play the treasure hunt, and to all of you who were there! To the 11 who stayed over, I hope that you've recovered from your "hangover", especially the boys who were subjected to more of the cold on the floor and who had the least sleep. I was pleasantly surprised about the surprise you all had for me. It was really sweet of everyone of you, even if you thought the gift was meant for games (cos it shows that you all are obedient! haha). I was touched by the act and was left speechless for a moment. Thank you all once again for the nice (so many chocolates!) gifts.

I'm glad that many of you made it to the class of you choice. It was nice seeing your beaming faces and hearing your squeals upon receiving your class posting. For those who didn't get into the class of your choice, do not lose hope. Begin with a clean slate, and yes, what's important is to be forward-looking and flourish where you're planted!

Keep the 2E2 class spirit alive because you're a unique class, and like what Mdm Chin says, all of you are very sweet and nice - people with a good heart. As much as you all would like to keep the 2E2 bond and friendship, it is also important to move on. Some of you might not be in the same class as your close friends, but hey, new good friends can be made!

I am sure that you've learnt alot from Mdm Chin, regarding study techniques, goal setting, etc. Do not lose what you have learnt, and continue to put these techniques into use. Ohyes, before I forget, please please please thank Mdm Chin. I am certain that all of you know that she has been an awesome form tutor and that she shows care and concern for every single one of you!! Do remember to show your appreciation to her (when you go to school, when you see her, etc)

On this ending note, enjoy your holidays. I will probably see you all next year, and by then, I'm hoping to see young men and ladies of grace and poise!

Are you sure that amount of food is enough? Have we confirmed the number of people going? I will sponsor the chips and tidbits ok? As for the wire mesh, we should check out how many pits we're given or how big the pit is (can one person call up Downtown East to just check? In that way, we can save that $1). Also, sausages and crabsticks are things that can be bbqed easily. You all can consider that. It's easy-to-eat finger food too!

I've actually ordered from this bbq wholesale place and their baffalo wings are not too bad but the Oriental Glaze is not very palatable in particular, so yes, we just stick to the first one. I had also gotten the charcoal from them but it was extremely difficult to start a fire with their charcoal, so get the charcoal elsewhere ya?

Again, thanks Joyce and Laura for taking the initiative. I hope you've got "co-workers" to help you with the planning of the games, etc (if you guys want to have!). By the way, do you all have a list of who's going and who's not?

I think that $5 isnt enough for everything. This can be counted as our last gathering already i think no one will hope to repeat the history of shortage of fund that happened during last year's BBQ.

Example 1:
30 people agree to come
30x$5=$150
$150-$119= $31
How much food can buy bought using only $31?
Please dont asume that more people attending will contribute more fund, yes that may be true to some extend but more people= more food consumed right?
So, i think that the amount that each person should pay should be brought to $7 .

Example 2:
30people
$7 per person
30x$7= $210
$210-$119= $91
$91 for food and drinks for 30people aint alot also actually.

To reply to what Laura say : If we were to bring extra cash, that means we buy the insuffcient things on the day itself. Things at Cheers aint cheap and what if it is the food that is running out? That will bring alot of trouble. Man power will be needed to go out and buy the food also, damn troublesome. Just increase the amount to $7 & thats easy already right?

Hmm... Well,being in 2e2 is actually quite refreshing for me. I mean,on one hand,there's those fun-loving,mischievious(have i got that right?) classmates and on the other hand,we have those serious ones. This year has been kinda a roller-coaster ride for me. I was grappling with many issues,and it hasn't been easy,but I'm not complaining. I'm really going to miss our class when we move on to Sec 3 next year. Being in this class for two years was the best thing that could have happened to me. Transiting from primary school to secondary school was awkward for me,but being in e2 made it easier.(Except for Ms Lin,who continually shows us documentaries on sex and that knid of thing)(no offense Ms Lin) I'm quite happy about my grades,but do feel I could have done better in Maths,English and Geography. Especially stinking Maths,which is going to affect my average horribly. Well,I've ranted enough. I hope you guys will work hard next year to keep up the good image of 2e2'o7. I love you all,and please do something to revive this blog!

Dear Class,

Just a gentle reminder, lessons will end at 1.20pm everyday next week in lieu of the starting of the O Level examinations.

Also, I just have a few thoughts about your results:
It has been a few days since the release of your results, and I hope all of you are taking it well. On the whole, I must commend that I have seen a vast improvement in your various subjects and Mdm Chin and I are pleased. In fact, I was very heartened when I saw wide smiles on a few of your faces during the giving out of the papers. For those who feel that you could have done better, do not be discouraged. It is not the end. It is only half the journey you have n Secondary school, and you can make THAT difference when you are in Sec 3 and 4.

I remember vividly that Mdm Chin said during one RISE lesson - There are no failures, there are only learning experiences. Therefore, do take things in good stride. Again, reflect on your study process and how to make things bettes, such that history will not repeat itself next year. I once read somewhere and someone said this, "Difficulties are meant to rouse, not discourage. The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict." How apt is this quote! Challenges are not meant to "kill" you but to make you a strong and resilient person, so Class, do not be afraid of adversity, for it is only then will your true human spirit be tested.

Alright, this is a rather lengthy post, and I have one least appeal. I do not know how many people actually read this blog apart from our few regulars like Laura, Mar, Joyce, Angela, mysterious 2E2'07.... who else?? I know they read because they are the ones who leave messages on the tagboard. It is the last week we are together as ONE class, the class of 2E2 2007. If possible, do rally your friends who have the internet (and I am sure many of them do) to just drop some posts about life in school this year. I think it would be interesting to have you to talk about your experiences. Anyone can get the ball rolling. (Peggy, you can talk about your first year as a student in Singapore, ESSS and in 2E2! I don't think the class has heard from you!)

Dear All,

To revive the blog a little, I'll be posting a short entry. Sorry for having "abandoned" the blog the past 2 weeks. It has been a busy period for me, and more so for every single one of you.

I actually took a look at some of your PSLE T-scores, and am quite surprised to see that some of you are not performing up to expectations. You came in with a relatively high score compared to some of your classmates, but you are not performing up to standards. On the other hand, there are also some of you who have worked really hard and conscientiously put in effort, and have exceeded those who have come in with a better aggregate. For those who belong to the latter, WELL DONE! Keep up the good work. For those who belong to the former, DON'T GIVE UP!

How you make use of the remaining 6 days is very crucial. I believe I've said this upteen times and I'll still say it again. Use your time wisely. I've seen improvement in the attitudes and in the quality of work of some of you and you know who you are. I've written comments in your latest composition and comprehension test.

Guys, this is literally the last lap. Let's run this race together as emerge victorious as a class!

Hey Guys!!

Firstly, I want to say that the Charity Bazaar today was a BLAST! I do not know exactly how much we've collected, but no matter what, I must say that you all were great! Both at the games and the food stall, everyone was doing their part in attracting more "customers" (I see many people with the potential to be very successful sales and marketing people), manning the stalls, giving back change, etc, and I was touched to see the enthusiasm. I am sure there was definitely frustration for the preparation bit, but I don't know how many of you agree with me that it is certainly worth it. I really appreciate all of your generiosity, willingness, and giving of your time.

The 2007 Charity Bazaar will be in my bank of fond memories and I hope it'll be in yours too.

Dear 2E2,

It's exactly one more month before the exams commence. When Mdm Chin and I were looking through your CA marks yesterday, we were really wondering what we could do so that you guys will know how important or how crucial the tests and exams are. I believe you all know the importance and how it'll play a part in your choosing to go to a good class or doing the subjects you want, but it is not reflected in your results. How many of you can say for sure that you've studied your best for the CA and the tests given and that you're very satisfied with your results?

Some of your classmates have made marked improvements. From failing maths and especially doing badly in Science, to passing and even getting 60+ for the subjects. I'm not saying that the 60+ score is excellent, but it's an improvement, and that matters. Those who have done relatively well, do not be complacent. Push yourself to greater heights and see yourself excel even further.

Class, NOTHING is impossible. It boils down to how much you want it. You have 1 more month. It's neither too early nor too late to begin clarifying your doubts with your teachers. For those who think it's more effective and fruitful to form study groups (like what some of your friends are already doing, meeting at night at the community centre study room to do revision), arrange to meet up during the Sept hols. However, if you think that you'd be tempted to talk, gossip and not doing anything useful in groups, then please do your self-study at home. Please be very disciplined during this period. Every moment from now counts and can make a difference in your grades.

I hope that you get the message from the teachers. Seize the moment, and not wait till the very last minute to burn the midnght oil.

Remember this, "Winners are not those who never fail, winners are those who NEVER QUIT"

The links are gone due to the html code. If you want it back, we would have to change it back to the old one. But, I think that if you want to post comments, you can do it on the tagboard or start a new post with regards to a certain post. Or, you can log in to the account and go to edit posts where you can find a button stating how many comments there are on the particular post, click on it and it will direct you to the page with all the comments. Yes, it would be more troublesome, but if you want a nice blog layout, then we have to sacrifice more time to view the comments.

The previous posts are still inside but, they can't be seen because of too much post on one page, they would "disappear". However, they are still around so do not fret.

There is also no blog archives so if u want to view the previous posts, you would have to log in to the account. There are definitely more troubles taken with this new layout, however, I feel that it is quite ok. If you need anymore clarification, please ask by posting ;D

Oh, and thank-you to whoever changed the blog skin. It's nice :D You did a great job. I hope we won't be changing blog skin any sooner because it is hard to agree on a certain blog skin especially when there are 39 people.

This blog has been created specially for you. I know that it's already coming to the end of term 3, but I hope that this blog would be a useful mode of communication for you (it's better late than never, right? :) ).

Also, as you can see from the name of this blog, it's called 2E2 Word Power. I will be posting a new word everyday and hopefully, it'd benefit you in your vocabulary and in your writing.
